“Aeronautical” is where you study the various forces that act on an air borne vehicle in the Earth’s atmosphere. Also do note the point that “Nautical” is a term used to measure the speed of wind. So Aeronautical deals with various forces in detail which act on a vehicle which is airborne. Mostly you can see that only three dimensional forces act on an aeroplane. Hence we mostly will be considering the parameter’s in three dimensions.

Both options usually require students to take some similar courses, like dynamics, propulsion and fluid mechanics.
