Food has become more imperative than just for survival. It is now regarded as an art. There are two main places where people can acquire food, restaurant and cafeteria.

Restaurant happens to be an establishment that prepares and serves food, placing an emphasis on service. Restaurants usually serve food and drinks for a monetary value and the food is consumed on the premises. The restaurant can also offer take-out or delivery services. A restaurant places a great emphasis on service in addition to the taste of the food. The meals are usually prepared as per order. Restaurants offer a wide menu and the pricing varies greatly depending on type of food served and the service provided.

A cafeteria, also an eating establishment, may or may not offer a seating arrangement.  A cafeteria also serves food and soft drinks for a monetary value and the food may or may not be consumed on the premises. In a cafeteria, the food would be served on a counter where it would be set up in a buffet form, counters or stalls. The customer must grab a tray and go through the line of the foods placed, selecting whatever they want and then pay the money towards the end.

Major difference between cafeteria and restaurant is

Restaurant prepare food and provided services to customers along with sitting arrangement but in case of cafeteria they also prepare food and provided services for valuable customers but some of cafeteria not offering for sitting arrangement. In restaurant having proper dinning arrangement but not in cafeteria .

Some other sense cafeteria provided self- service but in case of restaurant  they are not provided.

Hi karri!! Hope you are doing well!! Cafeteria and restaurant are two different kind of places . In restaurents ,food is served to people and along with that there are seating arrangements with proper service provided to the customers. In cafeteria, there can also be good served but not necessarily there will be seating arrangements for customers and it's a place where drinks are also there of differnet varities. Cafeteria may not serve many food varieties as compared to a restaurant.
