Hello aspirant

A  central university is built up by an Act of Parliament and are under the immediate domain of the Department of Higher Education (DHE) under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). As of February 2017, there are 47 Central colleges in our nation.
Highlights :

Conducts admission procedure

Grants degrees to the students

Deemed to be a university
'' Deemed'' is a status of self-sufficiency conceded to a college by DHE under MHRD, on the guidance of UGC. Deemed to be Universities appreciate full self-rule or autonomy in choosing courses, syllabus, admissions and fees. Some Deemed to be Universities can likewise concede degrees all alone. Deemed to-be Universities, which keep on performing admirably, can get the status of a full-fledged University.

As per an UGC merged rundown, there are 123 deemed to-be colleges in the nation.

Salient features:

Conducts their own admission procedure

May or may not grant degrees to the students

Hope it helped.

Good Luck.
