Hey Keerthana

Master of Science (MS) is purely research based program which is generally of 2.5 years and can be extended on the basis of your Thesis submission. Also while MS one works as a Research Assistant.

M.Tech is both theoretical and practical, less of research work. It is of 2 years with 4 semesters which fixed courses. While MTech, student can works as a Teaching Assistant.

IITs and IISc offer both programs MTech and MS. For further doubts, ask us.

Hello,

M.S is a program that is concerned with the practical applications of the scientific knowledge and M.Tech is a classroom-oriented program. This course is more theoretical and detailed, which marks a definite need for classroom lectures and guidance. M.Tech is strictly 2 year course and M.S  may go beyond 2 years.
