Well, for your help .. I am sharing the details as per my knowledge .

GM - in category rank generally means General Merit Rank.. it basically two types in several states.. one is GM for Home state quota and another is GM for Outside state quota .. General Merit rank also refers as Unreserved Category . Some popular exam like NEET, JEE MAIN etc exams needs these category wise admission.

On the other side.. GM in job position means General Manager .. after several promotion in a specific A level posts in individual companies, a person can be offered as a general manager post.
