Hii

The admission to MTech courses at Jamia Millia Islamia is given on the basic of GATE Score as well as the marks scores in qualifying examination.
70% weightage is given to GATE score and 15% weightage is given to marks scored in BTech degree.
Once you fill the application and submit GATE Scores, Candidates are then shortlisted for the interview. No seperate entrance exam is conducted by JMI.
Interview again has a 15 % weightage.

SO to get admission in JMI, you need to appear for GATE Exam.  In gate exam, there are a total of 65 questions. Some are MCQ based while others are numerical type answers.
The paper contains a total of 100 marks. Some MCQs are of 1 mark and some of 2 marks.
For 1 markers, if you give a wrong answer 1/3 marks would be deducted from total score while for 2 markers, 2/3 marks would be deducted.
There will be no negative marking for numerical answer type questions.

Hope this helps.
Thanks!!
