Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a 5.5 years professional course for which the students are awarded the degrees in medicine and surgery upon successful completion of the course. The course aims at imparting quality education and training to students to help contribute to the growing sector of health and medicine. The course is regulated by the Medical Council of India and is spanned for four and a half years divided into semesters, followed by a compulsory internship for a year.

The minimum eligibility for the course is 10+2 with the subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Different institutes have different cut off marks, however, the selection is made on the basis of the entrance exams conducted either on the national level or by individual institutes.

The tuition fee varies from government-funded to private colleges. The average fees range around INR 1-10 Lakhs. However, AIIMS is one such institute with the fee structure as low as around INR 2,000.
