Hello,

In order to conserve the ratio of boy and girl, admission do occur by considering gender. There are counselling process that is based on opening and closing ranks in a range for girls. If the seat is open then admission occurs through gender-neutral quota.

Till last year Girls reservation in IITs and NITs were 14.3%, which is increased to 20% this year onwards.

You simply have to apply to the counselling, the JOSAA itself prepares separate seats for girls and then allots it accordingly.

As far as you are concerned, you don't need to do or select anything by yourself.

Feel free to comment if you have any further query.
