Hello Aspirant,

The Medical Council of India has set certain guidelines for admission of the students with disabilities. Their admission in done under PwD which is Persons with Disabilities.


Visually impaired students are only eligible for admission into MBBS if the extent of their disability is less than 40%, i.e., 

• Category '0- 10%
• Category 'I- 20%
• Category 'II- 30%

A student with more than 40% visual impairment will be eligible for admission only if the disability is brought down to less than 40% by means of advanced low vision aids like magnifiers / telescopes, etc.
