What is the meaning of category rank given in neet result. What does it mean and how is it helpful in admission process. Im from gujarat

Hello Mitali,

As you might have observed with NEET results each candidates gets two ranks i.e All India rank and category rank.

All India rank denotes where you stand in the complete merit list taking all students who gave NEET into consideration.

Category rank denotes your standing among your category. For eg. If you are in OBC category and got category rank 1000, than it means you stand on 1000 position among all OBC students.

As you know seats are reserved for OBC,SC and ST and other categories in every college, hence with category rank, the marks required to get admission is less than general category student.
