Before AP and Telangana became 2 separate States, we had 3 major Universities which were Andhra University, Sri Venkateshwara University and Osmania University. Now after bifurcation, Osmania University for being in Telangana remains with Telangana and the rest of the Universities remain with AP. Now there might be parents or Candidates who would have studied for couple of years in OU and couple of years in AU. How does one give them the domicile status? So there is a rule that whoever studies for atleast 4 years in a particular area like OU,AU or SVU, that Student can be considered local to that area and can be given local status for that area. But what if someone studies in 2 areas? For such Candidates the maximum time spent of 7 years in 2 areas will be counted. So if someone has studied for example 3 years in Hyderabad and 4 years in Guntur, he/she will be given local status of AU and not OU. For OU, he/she can still claim Non Local Status. The last 4 years and 7 years need to be calculated for deciding your local/non local status.
