Hi
Yes definitely the diploma holder like Polytechnic can able to write the JEE mains exam but they one thing you should keep in mind that diploma holder will can't be able to take the admission in NIT / CFTI / IIIT only they can be able to take the admission in IIT via JEE Advance.

If you have completed recognized diploma from the AICTE or a state board of technical education (minimum 3 years) than you are eligible for appearing in JEE exam(if you fulfill other eligibility criteria also).
