HI, There is a major need for production and industrial engineers across India and the scope is limited as well. Production engineering is very sought after in countries like US and UK. In India,however, companies unfortunately look at it as second to mechanical engineering. So I will suggest you to choose mechanical engineering than Production engineering because the scope for mechanical is more than the production field. Good luck.
