This is a question every biotech student ask in the duration of there degree in biotechnology.
Yes there are lot of opportunities in biotechnology but  there is lot of struggle too. I will tell you from engineering perspective because i am pursuing engineering in biotechnology.

There are very less opportunities in industrial sector.the package offered by these companies are also very less .

There are lot of opportunities in research area. If you are interested in research then biotech is the best field for you. But if you want to go in research field your bachelor degree is irrelevant . You have to do mtech and then phd to have a strong career in research .

Biotechnology is a highly interdisciplinary field that combines biological sciences with engineering technologies to manipulate living organisms and biological systems to produce products that advances healthcare, medicine, agriculture, food, pharmaceuticals and environment control. After B.Sc biotechnology the job options like pharmaceutical companies, chemical companies, bio-processing industries, agriculture related industries, diagnostic laboratories and hospitals.
