Almost every year many Government Public Sectors recruits Production Engineers as Management Trainee or Executive Trainee. Some of the known Public Sectors are as follows:-

1.NTPC(National Thermal Power Corporation)

2. ONGC(Oil and Natural Gas Corporation)

3.SAIL(Steel Authority of India Limited.)

These are the only few name recruiting almost every year. There are other manufacturing and production companies of Government who recruits frequently. Government vacancies are few but not nil at any time. Almost every PSU is recruiting through GATE written exam score card followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

If you are seeking a private job then it is good as you might get it easily depending upon the reputation of your institute and also your personal interview. Production engineering has a good scope in India in future as the FDI has open its gates more and more companies are going to invest and hence more industries are going to open too( foreign ofcoarse as domestic are being forced closed ) so every industry needs industrial engineers.

Industrial and production engineering has a great scope. With the engineering industry expanding in India and with government policies conducive for new industries, there is a major need for production and industrial engineers across India.
