Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) was established in 1968 by Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai.



The exams conducted for UG courses include topics from higher secondary while for PG courses the syllabus is from the subjects which you have studied at the time of your bachelors.

CIPET is a Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology which conducts JEE through which candidates can take admission in PG courses. Other courses like B.E/B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech, M.Sc in it's affiliated colleges. The exam is divided into two papers-prelimanery and mains. The test is computer based with no negative marking system.The syllabus for JEE is as follow:
