what is the total no. of MBBS seats in govt. medical colleges? Are the seats going to be increased?

Hi Anand!

There are approximately 24,000 seats in government medical colleges for MBBS. As of now, there is no news of any increase in seats; I recommend you regularly check the website in case of any new development.

Roughly, there's about 65,000 MBBS seats in India..out of which about 25,000 to 27,000 are Government Seats (Including J&K and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana).

Now each state has its own number of seats…like Maharashtra has about 3,000 of which 15% are for AIQ and rest are for the State Domicile Students.
