Hello,
In short:
VIT Chennai is good but has smaller infrastructure when compared to VIT VELLORE campus. If you are considering placements, then same company hire from chennai campus and vellore campus. Also hostel life, food, no of good faculties are pretty good.

VIT Chennai is a globally engaged, competitive, comprehensive, research-enriched university. It has been considered as 13th best engineering institution in India for the second consecutive year by NIRF Ranking.

VIT Chennai offers a great environment to study. College management is an extra edge in VIT Chennai, as they are highly qualified and experienced in teaching. Also, students intake is of very good quality which develops a competitive environment.

In addition, VIT offers excellent infrastructure. Also, the campus is strategically positioned to respond to major industrial, social and environmental demands, so placements are not an issue there. Most of the giant companies from Bengaluru, Chennai or Hyderabad comes for on-campus placements.

Although, it depends on you that how you utilize campus environment. You can look a great career ahead with VIT Chennai campus.
