There are some courses in VIT which might be good for biology stream candidates. Here it follows

B.Tech in CSE (spec. in Bioinformatics) : It basically comprises of applications of Statistics and Programming, Database management of help manage and interpret biological data. It comprises of courses in Computer Science, Biology and Mathematics/Statistics .

• Scope : This is a relatively new branch, but Bioinformatics is a widely recognized course with a great scope of higher studies abroad. After completion of this course you can pursue Masters in BioInformatics which will boost your career growth.
• Placements : To be honest, the placement scenario for Biology branches in VIT is not that great, but ya it’s the best for Bioinformatics in comparison to other Biology branches because of the huge chunk of Programming involved. You might not get Super Dream Offer but still many CSE companies allow Bioinformatics student to sit now, in comparison to other Biology branches in VIT.

B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering : In this course you will deal with applications of Biology for treatment and monitoring of healthcare issues. You will learn a lot of concepts in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and their applications in Biology field in monitoring and creation of medical devices.

• Scope : As said for Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering is a widely recognized course with a great scope of higher studies abroad.
• Placements : You might get placed in certain core companies, but that’s just a smaller population among the whole batch.  After pursuing this course it's prefered to go for higher studies and then end up in certain core companies at research positions.

B.Tech in Biotechnology : You might llike this branch. So basically, it deals with applications of technology in industrial purposes or genetic manipulations etc in the Biological domain.

• Scope : When it comes to research, Biotechnology is the most widely recognized branch in India and abroad. It has great chances of higher studies, and it has so many sub domains such as Food Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetic Engineering etc. that you get to explore a lot of options for your higher studies.
• Placement : In VIT, not many companies, except a few core ones like Dr. Reddy’s etc. come for placements for Core Biotechnology jobs. Rest you have other Biotech companies such as Novo Nordisk that come for Marketing jobs for Biotechnology pass outs as well. After pursuing this degree it's prefered to go for higher studies in the field of your interest. This will help to boost your career growth and you might end up in research position with very good core companies.
