Hello Kunal. 1. Total marks will determine your rank. When more than person has the same total marks, number of negative marks shall determine the relative rank between them 2. Try keeping your negatives to the minimum, while solving MCQs. If you are confused about an answer, keep it for later to be solved, that is once you have attempted all questions that you are sure of. Guess work is never an inteliigent option in entrance tests. It is a common notion that attempting more questions can help cover up the negatives, which is grossly wrong. With negatives you will be taking away the credits for all the correct answers. One negative can cause a huge change in your rank, you may also lose out on a desired college. Hence, be careful. In NEET ug, both the negative marks and total marks matters. This is because in case of a tie in total marks while ranking less is the negative marks higher will be your ranking. This will be applicable even if you have a very high score. And this matters , as you might miss out on your dream college or the best college in your state even by one rank. So, always try to score less negative marks. Dont answer the questions if you are not sure about it more than 80%. You will notice that your total marks is also increasing. Try it out in your mock tests or while practising previous year papers.
