The key difference between MBA and PGDM is that an MBA is a certificate and is provided by universities, whereas a PGDM is a postgraduate diploma provided by AICTE-approved institutes. Academic institutions are part of the University Grants Commission ( UGC) and therefore can award degrees such as MBA, also known as MMS in Mumbai.
