Absolutely..... statement 1 is correct and statement 2 is false......this is because coenzyme or metal ion when tightly bound to enzyme protein acts as prosthetic group...the word tightly bound ....clears that....if that word would not have been there..the statement would be wrong......and my dear friends......u All are telling that....nta considers ncert...I ncert nowhere it has been written that they can't act as prosthetic group....and if all are so concerned about ncert.....the second statement itself has the answer...holoenzyme.....which is nowhere mentioned in ncert....which clearly shows that it is out of ncert question ....moreover in aiims 2015 the same question had come and the ist statement was correct.....though ncert is the syllabus for neet but.....an answer which is correct can't be wrong just because there is nothing mentioned in ncert.......I might sound boring....but pls give ur views.  And once pls check aiims 2015 .....

Yes true indeed.. just because it isn't mentioned in NCERT , these stakeholders consider the correct answers wrong, which shouldn't be like that. And yes there was this same question in aiims 2015 in assertion-reason section and the correct answer was 3, i.e assertion is true but reason is false.
