It’s good to know that you are interested in taking the NEST exam. There are a few things one must take into account when talking about NEST exam.

1. Contrary to popular belief, NEST is not an IIT-JEE like exam. People who have appeared for KVPY exams will find resemblance in the patterns of NEST and KVPY.
2. NEST questions are generally very conceptual. Therefore, the first and the foremost duty of someone preparing for the same would be to be conceptually sound. For that, one can always refer to gazillion books available as reference, however, for Chemistry and Biology, the inclination should be towards NCERT books. These are majorly under-rated and that is a reason people don’t do so well in entrances.
3. For Physics and Maths, you need practice. The thing to remember is while you will have to solve problems in Physics, there will be a few questions which would be totally statement-based. You have to reason and reason well to get the answer. Maths, more often than not, plays the spoilsport in entrances. NEST is no different. The sad part is there is no easy way out of it. You have got to practise, as much as you can, as frequently as you can.
4. To be completely prepared, you have to refer to previous questions (those are available online)Take these tests in exam conditions and you will do much better.                                                               I hope this would help you.
