Hello Adwaith,
Mostly, people prefer engineering after PCM. But, there are tough entrance exams like JEE and CET. And, let's face it, there are too many people passing out as engineers, But, how many of them end up with a decent job in their field? So, here are some less- competition career options-

1) Law- There are 5 year courses (integrated) like B.A. L.L.B or B.B.A.L.L.B. There are also entrance exams like MH CET and CLAT. (I have listed this on top because I have decided to pursue law after class 12)

2) Civil Services- Not that the competition is less here, it IS tremendous! But, people still give it a try. Choose a graduation and start preparing for UPSC or MPSC (maharastra). There are max. 6 attempts for general category aspirants.

3) Defence- If you were always interested in sports or adventure, this is a good option for you. There are various entrance exams like NDA, CDS, SSB. There is also a JAG entry in the Indian Army for law graduates.

4) Designing- If you have drawing or designing skills, this field will welcome you with open arms. Generally, those planning to pursue designing from the beginning take up arts in 12th, but it's fine if you have taken up Science. But, mind you, the entrance exams are quite tough.

5) Hotel Management- If pursued from a reputed institute will land you a good job. There are various degrees like B.HMCT, BBA hotel management & hospitality.

6) BCS or BCA- Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Applications. You can also do a B.Ed after that if you wish to become a computer teacher or professor.

Lastly, there remains no field today, as such, where there's very less or no competition. (At least in India). So, your prospects do depend on your field, but more on how you develop yourself, and master your craft.
