It is done by the Railway recruitment board.

It includes a three stage exam.
1. Written
2. Interview
3. Medical examination

Criteria for attempting it is
1) candidate should be a graduate and hold a certificate to validate it.
2) candidate should be able to read, write local language.
3) candidate should know basic computer skill.
4) candidate should be above 18 years of age.

The beginner position would be that of an assistant and later on promoted to master. Which is as follows initially the candidate will be Assistant Station Manager and then promotes to Station Master.
