As said earlier you will be granted a higher rank based on your service duration in Indian Army. After SCC is granted you need to work for the duration of 5 years after that based on your performance, capabilities, willingness to serve further in defence your service period will be extended and you will be promoted as captain after three years of service from the day of joining. And then you will be promoted as major on completion of 8 years service. Your salary will increase with your rank along with it your duties and responsibilities increases. You need to continue to work to get promotion.
