Its quite simple . All those who have filled ‘ self study’ might be thinking that it will give them any edge over others or CBSE will hinder them if they are from any coaching institute . But that’s not the case , nobody has nothing to do with your mode of preparation . So relax and fill whichever mode you like to fill .It’s not a big deal .

If you are college student and you wanna give the JEE mains paper then i would suggest you should choose "Self Study" as the mode of the preparation.
See their is no effect whether you choose any thing in it.These things are just asked for the statistical purposes.
