Percentile score of a candidate= 100*( number of candidates who secured actual score EQUAL TO OR LESS then the candidate)/(Total number of candidates who appeared in that session) .

As of now the new result declaration scheme was adopted for JEE-Main by National Testing Agency and according to this it is little bit difficult to predict exact marks from percentile but yes we can predict our rank from the formula given below :-
(100-your percentile)*869010/100
where 869010 is the number of candidates appeared for JEE-Main January session, for September session you can also calculate by just replacing the numbers.
