For making my notes during JEE, I was advised by one of my teachers and it turned out to be a very helpful technique. For each chapter that I studied I would take about 2 or 3 pages and try to summarise everything I have learnt in those 2- 3 pages, pick out the most important things that I need to know and it always worked out. For each chapter, I would revise those notes before going for any exam. Another thing I did was that I maintained another notebook for mistakes that I made during tests so whenever I did any question wrong in any test, I used to write it down and then analyse my mistake and how it should be solved and before each exam I would revise that notebook and it helped a lot.
