Hello,

As per the article in the leading newspaper - The Indian Express, The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued guidelines that the fee of 50% seats in private medical colleges and deemed universities should be at par with the fee in government medical colleges in the state.

“The benefit of this fee structure would be first available to those candidates who have availed government quota seats, but limited to the extent of 50% of the total sanctioned strength of the respective medical college,” the office memorandum issued by NMC said.

------ Now well nothing as such can be predicted if the cut offs will definitely increase or decrease but it can be expected to increase as most of the students who score marks between 500-550 most of the times don't participate in counset as they won't get MBBS seats in Government Medical Colleges and they can't afford seats in Private Medical Colleges.

------- So if the 50% seats in private colleges will be having fee similar to government medical colleges then these students will participate in counseling and therefore you can expect the cut off to increase.

-------- Cut-offs for colleges change every year depending upon several factors such as-

• Number of applicants in NEET exam

• NEET question paper difficulty level

• Score of the candidates in NEET UG result

•  MBBS/BDS seat matrix
