as mtech is mainly for research purpose and further studies,you can apply for phd afterwards or go abroad for studies.

the placement will not be much around 5 to 10 lakh in any chemical company on campus like reliance,upl,vedanta etc.

if you want a good job you can prepare for gate along with mtech and if you get a good rank you can get a good psu with a minimum of 10 to 15 lakh salary.
