It varies from college to college in general it is 75% or top 20 percentile bt in many colleges marks above 45% is also accepted . So it totally depends on the college.

To be entered in engineering colleges via jee
You have to get a minimum 75 percentage of marks.
Or in you have to be in more than 75 percentile.
And if you are looking for any other college it depends upon their conditions and regulations.
Some college give admission to those who have higher than 60 percent.

Like fir IITs and NITs there 75% required for general
But in state level entrance test this is reduced to 60% and 50%.

It depends on the college you are opting like some colleges don't keep an entrance exam and just take you in according to your board results for ex: SSN Chennai while some colleges have the criteria of having board marks more than 75% and scoring well in their respective entrance exams.

Different exams require different Marks but the prestigious institute such as IIT NIT require 75%marka for OBC Gen category and 65%Marks for SC ST category students.

Therefore abythany above 75 on aggeaggre will be good and will make you eligible for most od the entrance exam.

All IIT's and nit ask for a minimum 75 percent marks in your board exams .  Any state government exams also need the same. But you also need to qualify the entrance exams hand in hand
