Here's the eligibility criterias that needs to be fulfilled by the candidates to appear for JEE MAINS
1. You can give JEE MAINS even if you are studying in 12th class. A large segment of students exam who appears every are the ones who are still student of 12th and not 12th pass out. However, Your qualifying year and the year of JEE MAINS should be same, you will no longer eligible if you fail 12th class but qualify JEE MAINS.
2. Candidates have studied Physics/ Chemistry and Maths as Subject in 12th.
3. Number of attempts- A candidate can attempt up to 4 exams of JEE MAINS in a year.

The eligibility criteria of jee mains 2021 says that
Candidates should have passed class 12 or qualifying the exam in 2019 or 2020.
Candidates appearing in class 12 or equivalent qualifying exam in 2021 can also apply for JEE Main 2021.
Therefore you can apply for jee mains for 3 consecutive years starting from the year when you are in your class 12th. So if you are in class 12 right now then you can apply for jee mains 2021, 2022 and 2023. For more information on eligibility criteria of jee mains visit the following link:
