The CBSE improvement examination can be given by the candidate as a private candidate in the consecutive year alone in one or all the subjects provided the candidate has passed all the subjects in the first attempt. And to answer your question the student only gives the improvement examination in the theory papers alone and the practical marks are carried forward from the previous year and is reflected in the marksheet.

The marksheet is sent home through post by the CBSE regional office after the results are published.
