Yes, most universities abroad demand proof of english language proficiency. There are some english proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL and PTE. TOEFL is mainly used in US and canadian universities, although universities in other countries might also ask for it. IELTS is asked for in UK and other european countries. Countries like Australia, Singapore ask for both and even PTE. So, you have to first check the english language requirement of the university you are applying and appear for the test.
