Jee Advance is the second round of the Joint Entrance examination, and after you clear JEE main, you are eligible to appear for JEE advance, also, this exam's rank(merit list), gives you choices to get admitted to all of the IITs. It is a highly prestigious exam for Indian students.

The top 5 IITs that are also famous by there Old IIT tags are not fixed, they keep on changing every year according to the ranking of the MHRD, therefore you may consider the top 7 IITs as good/old IIT. They call it so, as they were established long back, and have highly experienced faculties. The campus is well settled, infrastructure is good, and placement records are quite good.

One can get addmission in any of the IITs through JEE Advanced. All the old as well as new IITs take addmission through JEE Advance only.

The only mode for admission to IITs ,be it old or new is through JEE Advanced.So get admission into IITs you need to appean for JEE Mains and if you clear it,you are elligible for JEE Advance.
