There are more than 4000 engineering colleges in India. So, it is difficult to list down top colleges for specific branch but obviously IITs should be the first preference for any branch. In IITs, IIT Bombay is the best college for mechanical engineering followed by other IITs, BITS Pilani, DTU, Indian school of Mines, NITs, NSIT, IIEST, VIT, Manipal, SRM etc.
