Hey buddy, i am also eyeing for gate and going through higher engineering mathematics by bs grewal, you can also go witj gate mathematics by madeeasy publications. Advance engineering mathematics by erwin kreyszig is also a better option. Hope this will help

You can use discrete mathematics and its application by Kenneth Rosen. This book is a must read. It will help you build solid foundation in combinatorics, graph theory which carries over to algorithms as well.

1. Engineering mathematics by made easy publication.
Basics and concepts have been very well described with formulas and examples. You would also find previous papers of gate with solved answers.
2. If you want to practice further buy kanodia.
