ECE is about electronics and how the different electrical components (Microprocessor, RAM etc) communicate with each other. It has more Physics in it. There is a little programming involved but not much. CSE on the other hand deals with telling these components what to do and when to do it; by programming them.

But, considering the recession scenario one can say that Computer Engineering is not an evergreen branch while Electronic Engineering is an evergreen branch.

Firstly, it depends on your passion, interest & innate talent which field to opt for. If you are comfortable with electronic circuits, chips & study of physics, ECE is a good option & vice versa.

Even with ECE, if you have knowledge of computer science it will be an additional advantage in getting hired to a good company.

So, choice is yours, you can opt anyone as per your desire.

As per your query.cse branch is a ever green branch .but both branch has a wide range of scope both private or goverement sector.compny like infosys,tcs ,wipro,are selecting a cse student in a large number .but these software company also recuriting a ece student. now a day benglore and pune are hube of software compnies .
