Dear Rahil, see there is no difference between IT and CSE. If you search thoroughly and check the curriculum, you will find that both are same. Even the placements offered in both the branches are more or less same, so your question reduces to CSE/IT or ECE.

I will say it totally depends on your interest, never go with the facts. Let your passion decide your future not the facts.

1. Let me start with CSE-

Coding is at a boom these days, rising no. of startups need developers and coders. Options are wide in computer science, lots of computer and assembly languages to be learned. But the thing is apart from being so much wide, CSE people often bound themselves in areas which they dont think they or are sure of in excelling! Dont look for CSE if you’re just seeing that its cut-offs are more or everyone else you know who pursued CSE is settling abroad. Lots of people have mis-conceptions that people who are CSE grads have well fortune waiting for them in the west. But thats not true in all the cases. Plus, in CSE you’ll find a lot of people in race and you’ll end up being one of them. Im not saying it happens with everyone, but yes let your passion decide.

2.Now the ECE thing:

Its a evergreen field, it really is! Believe me. I have been into three domains and excelled two of them. Three in the sense: Electronics(Embedded systems, robotics, VLSI etc. to be named a few), Communication (Networks i.e. Networking) and Coding. I was much more comfortable and was more of a enthusiast for networking. Did many certifications and almost excelled in that. This what helps for ECE grads. They can “SWITCH”. This is the best thing. Switching is the only thing which can be possible in ECE. You can code, you can assemble or you can manage networks. There is a lot a ECE grad can go for. Yes the curriculum is more vast than any other Stream. But a little more hardwork can open a whole different world for you. You get a less competition. You can also be eligible for some exams which only need core stream grads like ECE! There are jobs where only ECE students are req but not the Cse one. But the vice-versa is not that much common.

So be aware what you want to do, and what you want to achieve. If you’re sure of that. Go ahead and bang on! :)

All the best

Hope this helps

Hi,

All the branches have a good placement record. It really depends on the college. What companies does your college get, what are placement records of your college. This also depends on your marks and your performance in college. But if we see in general then the order for placement is:

1. CSE

2. IT

3. ECE

And yes you can get a great placement from ECE branch if you keep a good academic record.

I hope I was able to clear your doubts

Thank You
