Hello.
In terms of job opportunities, so both the branches are having their on job areas, but if it is about India so biotech is more job oriented while chemical engineering branch again have good scope and hopefully in future it would be in more demand, in future there are various opportunities with biotechnology branch like to work in agriculture industry, food processing and production biotechnology, testing of GMO and transgenesis , environmental protection, etc. While in chemical engineering there will be job opportunities in petroleum, pharmaceutical, semiconductor industry, etc.
overall biotechnology branch would be better if talking about more job oriented branch, while they both are having their own job areas, so see in yourself where your interest goes then and only then go for a particular branch.
Best of luck.

See both branches have got their own uniqueness and at the end it depends on the student itself how well he performs in his her branch, if he does then surely good jobs are available in both the branches. But if you were to ask about the upcoming branch, then of course it's going to be biotechnology.

Biotechnology Engineering is the rapidly growing field. The demand of biotechnical experts has been growing nowadays. This field is a blend of many specializations. Those specializing in this field can easily seek jobs in private and government undertakings.

It really depends upon your personal interests and where you would want to see yourself in the future. If you take Bio Technology , forget about immediate placements, you will definetly have to do a post graduation. Whereas the same is not necessary with B.Tech Chemical Engineering. You can expect campus placements.

So if you're more into research, go for bio, if you're looking to get placed immediately, go for chemical.
