Hello Nithin,

Kindly mention the course for hich you are searching an institute. There are colleges that have almost negligible fees but offer very high value degree, as well as there are colleges that take a huge sum of money even for little value courses or diploma. For example there are medical government courses that offer a 5 year MBBS degree, although there fees is not more than 5 Lakh for whole course. The hostel fees is as little as 100, whereas there are private institutes that take more than a crore rupees for the same MBBS degree. Similarly when taking about engineering, there are colleges such as the Jadavpur university, having fees as low as 5k per anum, which means just 20,000 as tuition fees for 4 year degree, and even the placements are good. Whereas there are some colleges that take more than 20Lakh for the same 4 year B.Tech degree.

If you want a seat with minimum fees, try getting into a government college, as they keep the fees low, or you can join some low value course since they have relatively less fees.

Hope this helps
