Hello,

If you want to go for software engineering field then after class 10th you should opt for SCIENCE stream and choose one optional subject apart from Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics and English. The optional subject list includes COMPUTER SCIENCE,PHE,HINDI,ECONOMICS,...and more.I will suggest you to opt for computer science subject as this will help you in Btech course and you will have some extra knowledge of programming at that time.

Focus on your academics and try to get good JEE marks and secure admission in Tier 1 and Tier 2 colleges. I'll suggest try to get a CS or IT branch even if you have to trade it with a College. It's a very tricky dicisson so consult properly and then take the call.

Study your maths properly it's very important in later stages of software development and logical development. If you can spare some time from your busy schedule try learning coding YouTube (http://youtube.com/) is a great place to start learning.

Some YouTube channel I recommend:

  1. New Boston: Good for understanding language basics and fundamentals. Learn C++ first and then python.
  2. MyCodingSchool: It's a good channel for learning algorithms and various Computer Science fundamentals.
  3. Siraj Raval: This Youtuber makes really nice videos related to Computer Science but I'll not suggest this at 11–12th STD but in later stages you'll enjoy it.
  4. Neso academy: This is a good channel for clearing your basic electronics concept. The reason why I'm suggesting this is because computer work basically on binary computation. Having a basic electronics knowledge such how gates, etc work will really help.

Majorly I'll suggest one should learn one programming language at some good extent preferably Java or C++. And make some projects using them.

Some basic projects:

  1. Scientific Calculator
  2. Banking System
  3. Student marks calculator

These might seem complex but trust me when you start coding they are pretty easy.

Please don't make the mistake of focusing on multiple languages at the same time.

Software Engineers are not less than any artist. To be a great Software Engineering you need great problem solving skill.

Knowing multiple languages is not that necessary. Once you have command over a language you can easily switch to others very easily

Good luck.

Hello,

In order to become software engineer you will have to choose Science stream after your 10th std and make sure you have one optional subject which is computer science or IT and also you should have Maths in your combination.

During your 12th std prepare for JEE exam in order to get best institutes like IITs or any other and get admission into the Btech course like computer engineering or BCA ( Bachelor in compuetr applications). You can also do Bsc in Computer science.

After your undergraduation you can do further masters or with skills and knowledge work as sofware engineering for any firm or company

Thanks and all the best
