Hi aspirant,

Hope you are doing great.

The Indian Police Service examination is a part of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) each year. So you have to apply to UPSC online mode. The selection is divided into three parts firstly you have to appear for prelims and then mains and then finally an interview is conducted to finalize your selection. So you need to be very calm and have to be very attentive throughout the selection procedure.

So to clear these rounds you have to take coaching classes. Some of the renowned coaching classes are IAS academy, Vedanga Institute, Vajirao IAS Academy.

And to get into the police force there are various posts available and for every post, a different exam is conducted. Posts are Constable, Head constable, Assistant of Sub Inspector, Sub Inspector. To prepare for these exams the coaching centers that you can join are Paramount coaching center, Mahendra, Career Power.

You can take any course after 12 like BA, BCOM, BSc but if you take ba then it will help you in your further preparation due to similarity in topics.

Hope this helps.

Dear student,

  • starting with the basic procedure as to how one becomes an IPS or a police officer needs to be understood to know which is the best so, you become an IPS officer by either giving UPSC or the central administrative tribunal has its jurisdiction to conduct examination on the other hand in order to become a police officer you may be recruited through police department or through State Administrative Tribunals.
  • However you should be aware that a police officer can't become an IPS you have to follow different procedure and give the appropriate examination in order to become IPS.
  • Also an IPS officer commands the CAPF (BSF, CPF, CPO).

hence it totally depends upon you which one do you find better.

Hello aspirant,

If you wish to appear for the UPSC, then you need to get a bachelor degree. To obtain it, you need to complete your graduation. This may be done in any course. But, choosing BA will helps you most to crack the UPSC. However, there are many students who cracked the exam, after graduating from engineering. It depends on your interest.

Good luck, Thank you :)

Hello!

You can take any course to do graduation. In order to become an IPS Officer, you must apply for CSE exam after conducted by the UPSC. You must also pass the exam (preliminary, mains and interview) in order to get selected for the training.

12th passed students can’t appear for this exam right after 12th. After completing 12th, they must complete Graduation first. Aspirants must started preparing for CSE exam immediately.
