Management has major domains like Finance, Operations, Strategy, Marketing, Information Technology, Human Resource and other minor domains.

A Management course (MBA/IPM), which is all about business operations and people management.

IIMs, especially the old ones, are India's premium institutes because of their great quality of education, faculty and infrastructure. The results are clearly seen from the students graduating from those colleges.

It really depends on your interest in the field of your choice. B.tech and BBA are two very different fields which will shape your view towards situations differently. Engineering gives you the technical edge of technology world and BBA will give you a Financial analysis if the business world.

Both the courses will give you similarly kinda of basics. So introspection is the key and find out what you actually like doing and that will always yeild you a better career path.

The selection of course depends on your interest. There are many who do both of this as you mentioned. Eventhough you are from Science background, if you clear management entrance exam comprising of logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, English language ability you can go for admission procedures.

If you are passionate about Engineering, you can do B.Tech and then go for MBA which enables you to manage the engineering business matters. There are many courses available in Management. You can choose any one from HR, Tourism, Hotel Management, Operations management etc.

And there are many colleges like IIM, Amity, DU, Symbiosis, SRM etc.
