To become a police officer, you need to appear for the State or central civil services exam. To appear for these exams, there is no as such restriction in terms of subjects in inter or degree. You can join in any of the stream of your choice, be it, commerce, arts and science. Generally, apart from central civil services, state civil services also includes preliminary, mains and interview process. You can appear for the UPSC CSE or state civil services to which you belong after passing your bachelors degree in any stream from a recognized college/university.
