there's not necessarily a particular exam for being a teacher for such a high and technical field like engineering. You have to firstly posses the required qualifications of the field. Firstly you need to get yourself into a good engineering college depending upon your choice of location and youre performance in the entrance tests. Then after you've completed your engineering course of study you can apply in universities or even find teaching internships to enhance your resume. A decorative always helps you a lot.

There's also an option that is known as NET that is national.This a national level entrance test conducted specially for post graduation students who either want to make their career in teaching or wish to pursue Ph.D in India.

Under NET you can give exams for your field of specialisation and followed with JRF junior research fellowship you'll be able to crack your way in  good institutions as a lecturer or professor.

The minimum eligibility to become a government teacher is having Graduate degree in any of the disciplines. But, having a graduation degree is not enough for candidates to apply for teaching jobs until he/she has B.Ed, BTC, NTT or any degree mentioned below along with the graduation degree.
Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) or State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) is the first step to become a government teacher. Teacher eligibility test (TET) is mandatory and without qualifying it one cannot become a teacher in any government school.
