Both are the good group. But selection of one out of these two is totally depend on your interest. So select as per your interest. If we think as job point of view , mechanical is good option. Marine is also good for the job but for that you have to collect the certificates like HIMT . But if you are from mechanical then you can get good job , can appear for upsc , banking exam , also for gate .
