Look, the scope and the placement finally depend on your skills, and how much interest you show, now in general, India doesn't have a lot of scope for Biotechnology Engineering, but it does have a scope in foreign countries. While Electrical and Communication Engineering has a little scope/jobs in India, but most change their field to IT, and continue. So you have to keep these things in mind, and make your decision

Biotechnology is recently growing up and electrical and communication engineering has already make its place. So both has good scope of higher studies. Now you should choose the stream of your liking. If you like to study circuits go for ece otherwise biotechnology

Hi Paruthi,

Being a biotech engineer from NIT Calicut, i see that this branch has better scope abroad but not in India, for that also you need to study till you get yourself a phd. Now if you have an ECE degree, you have more chances to get a job after your btech. So the choice is completely yours. I guess i have answered your query. Cheers!
