  • The question you have asked is a pretty broad spectrum one and it will encompass a number of different options on whether your aptitude is wt all related to science, commerce or Humanities or you would like to practice stuff in which you would require your holistic skills such as public speaking or management as well as skills in other performing arts like music, dance or handicrafts
  • So the first major decision you would need to take is whether you are going to take up something which would require academic learning are you would go for vocational arts
  • If you are into academic learning then you would need to choose in which stream you want to do your further studies and although the exact standard period is not limited in the Indian system of education and you can change streams to a particular level even at your higher studies also but it is always good to clearly have a target set in mind before proceeding with the preparations
  • One thing I would like to lay stress upon over here is that please try to set your targets by your own aptitudes and not by the pressures of different people around you because at the end of the day it will be your career which you will be pursuing and if you are not satisfied with your job you will be a better person and will be a nuisance to all others around you in future.
  • Once you are sure that you are not a philosophical or imaginative person opting for Humanities or the calculative or dexterous person opting for economic or commerce related streams and are a person with an impetus and hunger for science, the next decision you would need to make is whether you would choose biological sciences or mathematical based sciences
  • Mathematical sciences would give you different degree courses including graduation, post graduation, doctorate and post doctorate courses on physics, statistics, maths, chemistry and diverse other subjects in which you can practice teaching or professorship in future or you may be associated with different multinational companies or government institutionswherein they recruit scholars on these different basic sciences for fulfilling the purpose of running the technical aspects of their industries
  • If engineering is your aptitude, then that is a diversity  starting from civil to mechanical to electrical and computers and you can become the crux of the IT industry or you could be building monuments and bridges spanning thousands of kilometres -It is all your wishes what you want to pursue
  • Talking about biological sciences the first one which comes into picture is medical field or MBBS and dental field or BDS for which you have to give the Neet Ug examination as the undergraduate entrance examination and thereafter you will be able to pursue your medical and dental undergraduate studies comprising of five and half an a 5 Year course respectively ,following which will be able to practice as an independent graduate practitioner or secure jobs in different health centres or the private hospitals requiring people with the aforesaid qualifications
  • You would also have the option of further specialising and getting MD or Ms degrees which would imply masters alongside the DNB degree is which also indicate masters in the different specialities of medical science and subsequently you might also perform post doctoral studies in the form of MCH and DM after post-graduating in open ended subjects like MD medicine or MD surgery , while for dead end subjects like gynaecology and obstetrics an Ms degree in only be followed by different fellowships and associations with different institutes. You can also increase your degrees by getting diploma degree in different subjects like ophthalmology, ENT and radiology
  • Which field you want to specialise in medical science would completely depend on your aptitude-  if you like staying indoors and going through reports and analysing physical data you could choose streams like radiology, pathology, microbiology ,if you are an academician you might go for the basic sciences like anatomy, biology biochemistry, physiology and pharmacology and if the world of clinics fascinates you then you could go into medical stream such as general medicine, psychiatry on paediatric medicine and for surgical line such as general surgery, orthopedics and gynaecology along with other subjects like anaesthesia , eye,ent - you will also need to selective specialisation in the neet PG examination and for superspecialities like cardio medicine or Uro surgery you will have to do your DM and MCH after clearing the neet SS examination respectively
  • if you are doing a BDS you could also increase your degrees by performing in MDS in a special branch such as maxillofacial surgery or orthodontics
  • Paramedical lines also offer a wide range of services to you ,starting from b.optom where you can serve as an optometrist, DMLT which gives your degree to work as a laboratory assistant in medical laboratory , BPT which gives you a degree of a physiotherapist or bachelor of physiotherapy where you could be assisting the doctors specialising in physical medicine and rehabilitation speciality ,and you can also opt for BSC nursing or GNM nursing courses if you want to go for nursing
  • Opt for medical services only you qre ready to sweat it out, earn handsome and tet bear the wrath of agonised patients and their attendants.Else opt to teach or research
    • ultimately you have a wide area of choices in front of you and it is completely your choice which one you want to perform I have laid down the pros and cons of almost each and every one and I really hope that it helps you in making your decision and any further clarification is welcome from your part and I would be glad to solve your queries regarding it.
